To assist rural landholders to make on-farm improvements, and assist rural landholders to reduce risks to water quality.
The Maroochy FarmWELL program is being run by Maroochy Landcare Group and funded by Seqwater.
The program operates in the Upper South Maroochy River in the catchment area above Poona Dam and Wappa Dam (includes most of Dulong, Kureelpa, Kiamba and Image Flat).
Rural landholders with grazing or horticulture in this area are eligible for the program.
Water from these sources could potentially be used for town water supplies via the Image Flat Water Treatment Plant. The program aims to increase the adoption of good land and water management practices to create more productive and sustainable properties while at the sametime reducing risks to the quality of town water supply.
