Establishing off-stream watering for rotational grazing. Solar pump on dam, and tank installed. Cattle fenced out of large portion of pristine Tin Kettle Creek environment. This is the second stage of a major project, which has resulted in major stock management changes, and consequent less impact on the waterway, and improved pasture cover. |
Washout of dam wall on Bucher property in first part of 2020 after a heavy downpour.
The landholder performed urgent fix up and FarmWELL followed up with more permanent solution to address the causes. Lake Baroon catchment assisted in the assessment and provision of a cost effective solution. An example of the value of collaboration across the catchment groups. |
Robert Greeff.
This waterway will be fenced in preparation for a revegetation program by Ecolaboration. A collaborative approach was used across FarmWELL Ecolaboration and the landholder to plan this project. Two other neighbors engaged at the same time to also fence their waterways for similar revegetation programs. In this case the neighbors were encouraged to build on their friendships to commence independent projects which provided a more strategic solution to addressing issues around the shared waterway. |
Steven Jansen.
This property is located high above the Poona dam with access from the Kureelpa Falls Road. Steven Jansen has elected to use goats to help clear the steep weedy slope before revegetation by Ecolaboration. This project remains work in progress, with a significant portion already cleared and planted. It is high risk especially until vegetation establishes, with high rewards for the catchment. Another example of the need to cooperate, collaborate across FarmWELL, Ecolaboration and the landholder to achieve the outcomes desired. |
